ABOUT CONE CREATIVES
Our CEO, Preston Cone, was born and raised in Texas and now calls Boerne home.
He began his career in sales but was searching for something he’d truly enjoy – which is how he stumbled into marketing. Cone got his first taste in the field when he had the opportunity to work for Facebook and dove into social media marketing.
He was tasked with helping small and large companies get the most bang for their buck through Facebook advertising. Cone’s clients had budgets ranging from $500-$50,000 a month and he exponentially increased their return. One of his customers’ ads performed so well that they were featured on the “Facebook Success Story.”
Cone soon met his now-wife – who lived in San Antonio – and a family friend suggested he look to continue his career at Giles Parscale, a premier marketing company.
He had some political experience in social media marketing which earned the interest of the CEO, Brad Parscale. He reached out to Cone and immediately wanted him to start work the next day after requesting four days to find housing in San Antonio, Cone started as a digital marketing specialist.
Parscale was also the digital director of the Trump Campaign for President and quickly moved Cone to be the leader of the team that created the social media ads that raised $150 million.
Cone collaborated with highly talented designers and copywriters who worked almost every day for six months straight at a minimum of 80 hours a week. Through all of the chaos, this team changed the way future presidential campaigns would be run and social media marketing became the future of digital advertising.
Regardless of political preference, this job honed Cone’s marketing skills and allowed him to soar.
After the campaign ended, he was requested to be step into the role of digital director in for the 45th Presidential Inauguration in Washington D.C.
His team created the website, logo, style guide, and an official license plate, all while doing million-dollar social media ad buys. In addition, they created a digital ticketing system for the inauguration and official inaugural balls – the first digital system ever used for a presidential inauguration. This team worked an average of 120 hours and only had two months to excellently complete such a large project.
As a senior staff member, he traveled to New York and presented at Trump Towers to then President-Elect Trump.
To top off their busy schedules, Cone’s team also revamped the White House website to prepare it for the incoming administration. He was one of the youngest, senior staff member and was privileged to work alongside seasoned and accomplished professionals.
When asked about what he’s learned from his experiences, Cone says, “The campaign and inauguration taught me many things, but in the realm of marketing, I became convinced that social media marketing has unlimited potential if used correctly.”
